new snowblower rope not able able to pull out

Hi my name is janjib and my new snowblower operated properly the first time but now I am unable to pull the starter rope to start it a second time. My model number is 247889571. would you please give me information on what the problem might be. the motor ran fine, I am just not able to restart it, the rope is stuck. thank you very much, sanjib

This could be a lot of different things. First, remove the spark plug and then see if the starter rope will pull out or not. If the rope does pull with the spark plug removed then check the oil and see if you can smell gas in the oil. If you can, then the carburetor has leaked fuel down into the engine block and the head is full of gas now.



This machine will still be under warranty so you may want to go ahead and contact Sears Home Services to make arrangements for a technician to come out.



If the oil does not have any fuel in it then it could be that the starter itself has jammed up. You will need to take the starter off to see about that.
